Summer Immersion 2025 Course Description: From Geometry to Topology and Knots
Dates: beginning Saturday, July 5, 2025, and continuing on July 6, 12, 13, 19, and ending on July 26.
Time: 10:00 am to 12:30 pm PST

Tuition: $250

The aim of the course is to provide a literal instruction in Geometry, Topology, and Knot Theory. Reading materials will be provided in the course; no previous technical background is assumed. A short syllabus is given below:

July 5: Geometry: From Apollonius and Euclid to Desargues and Chasles
July 6: Geometry as Group: The Program of Klein
July 12: Metamorphosis of Surfaces: An Extension of Coexter Geometries
July 13: Geometry as Group – Prelude to Categories
July 19: Knot and Surface: Groups, Polynomials, and Colorings
July 26: From P.G. Tait's On Knots to Lacan's Sinthome
